Based in Dunstable, Kangei Koi Club caters for Koi keepers from Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
Kangei Koi Club was formed in November 2010 to provide an opportunity for local koi keepers to meet regularly to learn and promote understanding of all aspects of keeping koi carp (Nishikigoi).
Kangei (pronounced cangay) is the Japanese word “Welcome!” Whatever your level of knowledge or experience in koi keeping, or even if you only think you might like to become involved in our wonderful hobby, you’ll receive a very warm welcome at any of our club meetings or other activities.
We meet on the second Wednesday of every month and meetings begin at 7:45pm.
The address of our meeting venue and how to get there is set out below. Meanwhile, if you would like to learn more about our club and its activities you can email email@example.com or follow us on facebook - "Kangei Koi Club"
The venue for the meetings is:
(Formerly The Peter Newton Pavilion)Skimpot Road
This is probably less than a mile from J11 of the M1 so is very accessible. It is also very easy to find, has parking on site and has a bar facility for anyone requiring refreshments.
For those of you who don’t know where it is, it lies just behind Tesco’s on the Luton/Dunstable border and the following are directions from J11 (A505) of the M1.
•Head west from J11, along the A505 towards Dunstable.
•Go straight on at the traffic lights by the Luton and Dunstable Hospital.
•At the first roundabout turn left. (you’ll see Tesco’s on the far left corner of the roundabout and the Halfway House pub on the far right)
•The entrance to the Peter Newton Pavilion will be on your right, just after the pedestrian crossing.
The car park is often busy, but visitors to the pavilion are officially allowed to use the main Tesco car park. If you look to the right of Tesco’s (facing the entrance from the car park) you will see a gate and path which lead to the all weather football pitch and the pavilion.
If you are thinking of building a Koi Pond you may need advice,
why not come and have a chat with us, we will guide you through
the planning and building.
If you have any questions about a new pond build or have Koi problems then don't hesitate to contact one of us, or pop down to a local meet.
Feel free to pop down for a very relaxed chat about Pond building and Koi. We often have guest speakers, raffles and a bit of a laugh, all very friendly.
Or maybe your fish are experiencing Health Problems.
This is only a small part of what we do.
